The Schaumburg Triblocal edition is reporting that Schaumburg is pursuing a sister city relationship with Hyderabad, India. I applaud Schaumburg’s desire to enter into this type of relationship with a city in India. Our community has a growing Asian Indian population and this seems to be a fitting gesture.
This news caused me to reflect upon the fact that our church already has a relationship with India. Through our partnership with the GARBC we have thousands of sister churches in India. The GARBC is part of an international partnership called the International Partnership of Fundamental Baptist Ministries (IPFBM). The IPFBM has over 20 ministry partners in India which in turn have many churches and other ministries themselves.
We are thankful to God for our Indian sister churches. We pray that God will bless and protect them. We also pray for wisdom in how we can move our partnership from simply being members of the same organization to partners in ministry both here in the NW suburbs and in India. We pray that our church will be an encouragement to the Indian community of Schaumburg.
